(Long Island, NY) This past Saturday, Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) joined local poets and fans of famed essayist and poet Walt Whitman for an open house and reception in support of the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association. The Walt Whitman Birthplace Association hosts events throughout the year to promote the essayist’s legacy and local roots.

“The Walt Whitman Birthplace Association really exemplifies this influential Long Islander’s spirit and passion through their outstanding preservation and promotion of Whitman’s life and legacy,” said Lupinacci. “Their efforts highlight the role Whitman’s works still play in our lives after nearly 200 years.
