(Long Island, NY) “Unfortunately, a mosquito in South Huntington has tested positive for the West Nile Virus. Although this virus is extremely rare, our community should take proactive measures to make sure we protect ourselves and our families during these hot summer months. Please be sure to use mosquito repellent and wear shoes, socks and long-sleeve shirts when mosquitoes are most active. I’m confident that the Suffolk County Health Services will continue their relentless efforts to contain this virus and remove the threat in our community.”
