(Long Island, NY) Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of a Massapequa man for grand larceny that occurred in Seaford on Thursday, 05/28/15 at 6:20 A.M.
According to detectives, Frederick Eggers III, 47, using a center console boat, removed a wooden barge (was being used as a floating dock), from the rear of a residence located at John Lane in Seaford, which was tied the marine bulkhead at that location. The value of the barge is estimated to be approximately $15,000.

Seventh Precinct police officers located the barge on Wednesday, 06/03/15 at John Burns Park in Massapequa along with the defendant, who was placed under arrest.
Eggers is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, 06/04/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
