(Long Island, NY) The Seventh Squad reports the details of an arrest for Attempted Robbery on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 6:08 P.M. in Massapequa Park.
According to detectives, Steven Fitzgibbon, 25, of Shiremanstown, PA, was a patron of Woody’s bar located at 1015 Park Boulevard. He exited the bar with a male, 59 years of age, and attempted to take the victim’s wallet. A struggle ensued at which time Fitzgibbon punched the victim causing a large laceration to his head before fleeing the scene on foot.

He was located and arrested at the Massapequa Park Railroad Station. During the investigation Fitzgibbon was found to be in possession of a switchblade knife and marihuana. While in custody the defendant punched a wall in the Seventh Precinct breaking a hole in the wall causing an undetermined amount of damage.
Fitzgibbon is charged with Robbery 3rd degree (Attempt), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was arraigned on Sunday, November 14, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
