(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a man in Deer Park on Thursday, July 16.
Vijay Maraj was driving a 2001 Lexus southbound on Commack Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the side of the road at approximately 1:55 p.m.

Maraj, 29, of Queens, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, in critical condition.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
