(Long Island, NY) The Fourth Squad reports the details of an arrest for Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 12:11 P.M. in Rockville Centre.
According to detectives, the male victim 27 years of age was at the Ramada Inn located at 1000 Sunrise Highway when the defendant, Steven Barrere, 24, approached him and asked for help.

Barrere led the victim to the second floor hallway where armed with a knife demanded the defendant remove his boots and clothing.
The defendant took the boots and an undisclosed amount of US currency. Fourth Precinct officers responding to a 911 call located the defendant and placed him under arrest at the scene.
Barrere is charged with Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, Unlawful Imprisonment 1st degree and Menacing 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
