(Long Island, NY) Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone, Nassau’s Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Krumpter and Suffolk Police Commissioner Timothy D. Sini will announce at a press conference tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. the creation of a joint law enforcement task force to combat the heroin epidemic that is plaguing Long Island and our nation. This announcement will take place at the Nassau County Educational Heroin Summit and Rally that is sponsored by the Nassau County PBA, DAI, SOA and 1010WINS.
The summit will feature speakers such as Nassau County Executive Mangano, Acting Nassau Police Commissioner Krumpter, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini and Long Island School Officials. The summit will feature health officials and medical experts who will discuss the latest treatments to battle heroin and opiate addiction. In addition there will be a candlelight vigil ceremony for families, students and friends that have lost loved ones.
