(Mineola, NY) Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Police Officials will hold a press conference tomorrow at Carle Place High School to discuss the County Executive’s plans to distribute wireless Panic Alarms to all schools in Nassau County. The County funded program will provide each school five wireless panic alarms, which will connect directly with the Nassau County Police Department’s Communications Bureau.
Terrible tragedies such as Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and today’s events at Sparks Middle School outside Reno, Nevada have left many families, administrators and faculty feeling very uneasy. The Panic Alarm program will complement the County Executive’s Active Shooter Program which has been an ongoing effort to address possible Active Shooter scenarios.
