Each year, MFI, awards a scholarship to a local filmmaker. Congratulations to Jennifer Kravitz of East Marion as this year’s recipient.
This year MFI has partnered with the not-for-profit organization SoCal Crossroads, which was created to assist underprivileged individuals who come from low-income families in violence-plagued communities. MFI has awarded a scholarship to Valeria Nunez, an aspiring director from California and a member of a program.
Mentor Bobby Moresco (Crash, Million Dollar Baby) teamed up with SoCal Crossroads founder Paul Carillo to create the program, which uses film and theatre as a way to help the kids express themselves in nonviolent and creative ways. The Manhattan Film Institute is proud to support the outstanding work of SoCal Crossroads.
