(Long Island, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has arrested a Manorhaven man, yesterday, February 9, 2014 for an incident that occurred at 6:40 pm in Manorhaven.

Raymond Hounigringer, 49, of Manorhaven, who according to the report, “racked” a shotgun threatened to shoot two men plowing snow in a parking lot near his home.
According to Third Squad detectives, while snow plowing the private parking lot of 25 Matinecock Avenue, a 34 year old male driver and his 22 year old male passenger were approached by Raymond Hounigringer, 49, of 30 Matinecock Avenue, who was armed with a shotgun.
Hounigringer, who was irate that snow was being plowed onto his property, threatened to shoot the truck as well as the two victims and before returning to his home, he “racked” the shotgun. The victims then called 911.
Responding officers went to Hounigringer’s home and placed him under arrest without incident. The shotgun used in the confrontation was recovered.
The defendant is charged with two counts of Menacing 2nd Degree, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree and an unrelated warrant charge.
Hounigringer was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead today, February 10th, 2014.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
