Mather Hospital Names James P. Cavanaugh, MD, Director of the Department of Pediatrics
(Port Jefferson, NY) – James Cavanaugh, MD, has been named director of the Department of Pediatrics at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital.

Cavanaugh, of Huntington, has previously been a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at NYU School of Medicine, a pediatric hospitalist at Huntington Hospital, attending physician with the Huntington Medical group and director of pediatrics and an attending physician with the Dolan Family Health Center in Greenlawn. He is a recipient of North Shore University Hospital’s Outstanding Pediatrician Award.
Cavanaugh received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed a pediatric residency and was pediatric chief resident at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
