(Long Island, NY) As part of the Long Island Heroin Initiative, Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives in conjunction with the Freeport Police Department reports the arrest of two North Merrick women for criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance which occurred in Freeport on Monday, 05/25/15 at 9:00 P.M.
According to detectives, Denise Burke, 51, acting in consort with her daughter Danielle Burke, 18, while on Merrick Rd., sold Heroin to another for an agreed upon amount of money.

Danielle Burke is being charged with four counts of Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, four counts of Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 4th Degree, Petit Larceny and Unauthorized Use Vehicle 3rd Degree (both open warrants from a different incident). Denise Burke is being charged with Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Petit Larceny (open warrant from a different incident). Both defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, 05/26/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
