(Long Island, NY) The following statement was released today by Senator Jack M. Martins in relation to the MTA Confirmations:
“We took a step forward at yesterday’s Senate Transportation Committee Hearing by confirming John Molloy of Nassau County as the Nassau County representative on the MTA Board. He will bring his impressive engineering, environmental sciences and corporate management experience to the Board. He also understands the unique circumstances affecting Long Island Railroad commuters and will be a great advocate for Long Island and the Long Island commuter system.”
“We also had the opportunity to confirm the Governor’s appointment, Thomas Prendergast, as MTA Chairman and CEO. He has a wealth of experience in the field of transportation and after listening to his comments at the hearing, I believe he is committed to serving the commuters. We will continue to work with him and the entire MTA Board to ensure that Long Island’s needs are met.”
