Free Seminar Explores Legal Issues for Same Sex Couples on Tuesday, May 28
(Mineola, NY) – Local attorneys will discuss legal issues confronting same sex couples at a free public education seminar sponsored by the Nassau County Bar Association. “Life Cycle Issues for Same Sex Couples” will be held Tuesday, May 28, 7 – 8:30 p.m., at NCBA’s headquarters located on 15th Street at the corner of West Street, Mineola.
This free program will delve into topics such as birth certificates, defining parenthood, adoption, interstate adoption recognition, patient access and decision powers, estate planning and tax issues. Speaking will be Meryl L. Kovit of Floral Park, Maureen Rothschild DiTata of Berwitz & DiTata, LLP, Garden City; and Joseph G. Milizio and Joseph Trotti of Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP, Lake Success. The program will be moderated by Michael A. Markowitz, chair of NCBA Public Relations and Community Education Committee, and Terry E. Scheiner.
