Mediation Can Save Time and Money; Learn How at Nassau Bar Association Free Seminar Wednesday, October 16, 6:30 p.m.
(Mineola, NY) Couples seeking a divorce, siblings battling over a will, or families arguing about financial and care decisions for disabled members can now resolve their differences without going through a lengthy court trial. Nassau County Bar Association attorneys will demonstrate how to save time and money to resolve disputes in these situations and other controversies by using mediation as an alternative to costly litigation at a special free community seminar, “Mediation: Keeping Family Feuds (and Other Fights) Out of Court,” on Wednesday, October 16, 6: 30 – 8:30 p.m. at NCBA’s building on 15th Street on the corner of West Street, Mineola.
Mediation can be used to resolve all types of disagreements, including business, commercial, employment, landlord-tenant, real estate, construction, foreclosure and personal injury. Learn more from NCBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee Chair Carol Hoffman, Syosset; Vice Chair Marilyn Genoa, Genoa & Associates, Old Brookville, and Past Chair Eugene Ginsberg, Garden City.
In addition, attendees will watch a brief mock mediation with a “cast” of attorneys: ADR Committee Past Chair Andrew Thaler, Thaler Law Firm, Westbury; Ellen Cowie, Garden City; Jon Tan, Massapequa; Michael Levy of Kurre Levy Schneps, Manhasset; Beth Polner Abrahams, Carle Place; and Harriette Steinberg, Westbury.
The seminar is free, but reservations are requested by call the Nassau County Bar Association, 516-747-4070, or signing up online at www.nassaubar.org.
