(Long Island, NY) The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a female for Reckless Endangerment and Grand Larceny that occurred on Sunday, November 08, 2015 at 3:41am in West Hempstead.
According to detectives, a unknown female subject entered a 1995 Chevrolet Astro Van, which was parked in front of 7-11, 383 Hempstead Turnpike, West Hempstead and took the vehicle without permission. A Nassau County Fifth Precinct officer observed the vehicle pass a steady red light at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Elmont Road. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the subject refused to pull over. The subject then collided with two automobiles (an unoccupied 1998 Nissan Pathfinder and an occupied 2009 Toyota Camry).

Defendant Crystal Solomon, 39, of Long Island City was placed under arrest at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Elmont Road, Elmont. The four occupants of the Toyota Camry were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Defendant Solomon is being charged with 4 counts of Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Unlawful Fleeing 3rd Degree, Reckless Driving and Unlicensed Operator. She will be arraigned on Monday, November 09, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
