(Long Island, NY) The Seventh Squad reports the arrests of two individuals on April 9, 2014 at 7:00pm in Merrick.
According to Detectives, Police Officers on Patrol observed defendant Jennie Pappas, 24, of 2919 Ewell Place Wantagh run into the rear parking lot of the US Post Office located at 2020 Merrick Road and meet up with defendant Jimmy Henry, 29, of 555 S. Bayview Avenue Freeport. Defendant Henry then went into a Postal truck came out with a silver container and proceeded to hand it to defendant Pappas who then put it into her pocket and ran back to her vehicle. Officers approached Defendant Pappas and observed the silver grinder and a greenish brown substance believed to be marijuana on her lap. Officers approached Defendant Henry; the investigation revealed that he had a black bag containing a substance believed to be marijuana in the Postal truck. The Officers contacted the proper US Postal Service authorities who gave consent to search the truck.

Defendants Pappas and Henry were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Defendant Henry was additionally charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana. Both Defendants were issued Appearance Tickets returnable to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead on April 23, 2014.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
