(Long Island, NY) Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano will be joined by renowned actor/singer, and Long Island native, Robert Davi and Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum former General Manager Lance Elder at a press conference tomorrow to announce a commemorative concert to mark Sinatra’s 100th birthday this year and his iconic concerts at the famed Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
In April of 1974 for three-nights, Sinatra embarked on a comeback tour with the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum being one of the first venues he played. Local residents clamored for tickets, flooding the venue with more than 13,000 ticket requests. Ol’ Blue Eyes, the iconic performer whose 100th birthday is this year, went on to play several more dates over the years at the Coliseum with great success. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, which closed earlier this week to undergo a multi-million dollar facelift has hosted many concerts in its 40 year history.
