(Long Island, NY) Nassau County Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves and Police Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter will join PBA President James Carver to honor Nassau County police officers and law enforcement personnel for their bravery and heroism at ceremony being held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Their collective efforts resulted in drug and larceny arrests, saving a drowning victim, halting an attempted suicide and breaking up a home invasion.
Those being honored include: a Detective of the Narcotics Squad for developing confidential sources that led to three of the largest heroin seizures in Nassau County’s history; Sargent Stephen Schoen of the Second Precinct for arresting two individuals involved in a series of larcenies; officers Glenn De Meo and George Iwasiuk of the Sixth Precinct and Ambulance Medical Technicians (AMTs) Pearse Donnelly and Nina Cirella for saving a drowning victim; officers Frank Diconza and Richard Muller of the Fifth Precinct for their involvement in 176 arrests, including 26 felonies; officer Christopher Peters of the Highway Patrol K9 Unit for preventing a potential suicide; and officers John Liston, Steve Ben-Jacob and Michael Rasmussen of the Fifth Precinct for apprehending four suspects during a home invasion.
