(Long Island, NY) The Crimes Against Property Squad report the arrest of a West Islip man on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. for Grand Larceny that occurred Freeport.
According to detectives, the defendant Scott T. Crafa, 42 of 35 Eastbay Drive was employed as a store manager at CVS located at 403 Atlantic Avenue. Between March 26, 2014 and March 30, 2014 Crafa failed to make the store’s bank deposits causing a loss for the store in excess of ($40,000) forty thousand dollars. An investigation was conducted by the Freeport Police Department, First Squad detectives and CAP Squad detectives which led to the arrest of the defendant on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at his place of employment.

Crafa is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
