(Roosevelt, NY) The Nassau County Police Department has reported the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 3:50 pm in Roosevelt, New York.

Wesley Jackson, 25, of Roosevelt, New York.
According to First Squad detectives, officers responded to a medical call at 43 John Street. When police arrived they observed a 22 year old male victim with a laceration to the left side of his face after hitting it on a door knob inside the home.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. While at the scene police discovered a .380 caliber hand gun with two live .380 caliber bullets lying on the driveway.
The defendant Wesley Jackson, 25, of 43 John Street claimed ownership of the illegal weapon. He was placed into police custody without incident. Wesley Jackson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He was arraigned in First District Court today, Sunday, March 2, 2014.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
