(Long Island, NY) The Homicide Squad is investigating a Homicide that occurred on Saturday, April 09, 2016 at 3:56 a.m. in Roosevelt.
According to detectives, a victim, Allen Simpkins Jr., 46, of Roosevelt was discovered lying on the ground in front of a John Street residence.

The victim suffered from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at scene by a Nassau County Advanced Medical Technician.
