(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the details of five arrests for possession of forged instruments which occurred in Valley Stream on Thursday, 08/20/15 at 2:00 P.M.
According to detectives, Brian Ledbetter, 33, of Bronx, Khadijah Harrison, 20, of Staten Island, Gregory Allen, 22, of Bronx, Kevin Huffman, 25, of Bronx, and Eric Arjune, 20, of Brooklyn, attempted to cash a fraudulent check at TD Bank located at 275 W. Merrick Rd. Bureau of Special Operations police officers, while on patrol, observed the defendants acting suspiciously outside of the bank, and upon entering, were informed by the teller of the fraudulent transaction.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the defendants had cashed fraudulent checks, in excess of $500, at the bank earlier in the day. The defendants were also found to be in possession of twenty fraudulent checks at the time of their arrest.
Ledbetter, Huffman and Allen are each being charged with three counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. Harrison and Arjune are each being charged with eleven counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. All defendants will be arraigned on Friday, 08/21/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
