(Long Island, NY) The Second Precinct reports the details of a Life Saving that occurred on Thursday, August 06, 2015 at 7:15 p.m. in Bayville.
According to police, a Second Precinct Officer was assigned to a traffic detail for the Bayville 5K run when a female runner 58, collapsed to the ground nearby. The officer observed the woman was unresponsive and turning blue.

With the assistance of a passerby Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was initiated as the officer prepared to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). After a shock was delivered the woman became responsive and was able to speak.
She was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment.
