(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for Narcotics / Weapons that occurred in Hempstead on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 5:01 pm.
An investigation by Special Investigations Squad detectives led to information that drugs and weapons were being stored at a residence on Jefferson Place in Hempstead. A Search Warrant was issued by the Nassau County Supreme Court on January 14, 2016. On January 21, 2016 Special Investigations Squad detectives responded to that location and executed the warrant.

Detectives observed and recovered numerous guns and drugs from the first floor bedroom of the defendant Ronald Bishop, 34, of Hempstead. The defendant was placed into police custody without incident.
There were no injuries reported.
Recovered at the residence were a loaded Kimber pistol, loaded Sentri Arms assault rifle, Winchester pistol grip shotgun, loaded and defaced Spectre 9mm machine pistol, loaded 38 Smith and Wesson revolver stolen from South Carolina, loaded Taurus .380 handgun, loaded, defaced 357 Astra revolver, loaded Ruger handgun, loaded 38 Smith and Wesson handgun stolen from Florida, and A Phoenix 22 caliber handgun. In addition, 57 pills believed to be Ecstasy, 9.2 grams of a substance believed to be Crack Cocaine, scales, and other drug paraphernalia were recovered.
The defendant Ronald Bishop is charged with 12 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, 3 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possesion of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, January 22, 2016 at first District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
