(Long Island, NY) The Second Squad reports the arrests of two men for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, January 06, 2016 at 12:05 am in Bethpage.
According to detectives, officers from the Bureau of Special Operations were conducting an unrelated narcotics investigation at the Bethpage Motel located at 4107 Hempstead Turnpike, when they observed two males exchanging money in the parking lot. Defendant Michael Oyola, 32, of Bronx was sitting inside a 1998 Toyota when defendant Robert Lubrano, 63, of Farmingdale approached the automobile and exchanged an undisclosed amount of US currency.

Defendant Oyola proceeded to drive out of the parking failing to signal. Officers conducted a traffic stop and observed the defendant trying to conceal a brown hand rolled cigar in his sweatshirt pocket. The cigar and a clear bag of a substance believed to be marihuana was recovered. Michael Oyola was placed under arrest without further incident.

Defendant Lubrano was observed entering a motel room and after an investigation was placed under arrest without incident. A small white/yellowish rock like substance believed to be crack cocaine and a sliver colored metal pipe with what appeared to be crack cocaine residue was recovered at the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
