(Long Island, NY) In a recent presentation, Nesconset resident, Specialist E-4 Victor Adu-Amanfoh, presented Ed Doherty, Chairman & CEO of Doherty Enterprises, franchisee of Long Island’s 22 Applebee’s, and Director of Operations Marc Prince with a special United States flag and plaque in honor of the company’s heart and fervor in giving back to U.S. Veterans and active duty military. SPC Adu-Amanfoh flew the flag during his tour of duty aboard a Chinook 47D Helicopter on a combat mission from Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan.
Adu-Amanfoh, a National Guardsman attached to B Co 642 Aviation Support Battalion at MacArthur Airport, had been working as Kitchen Manager for the Farmingdale Applebee’s when called to serve. A CH-47D Chinook Helicopter mechanic, Specialist E-4 Adu-Amanfoh, was deployed with B Co 3-126 Aviation Detachment to Afghanistan. After a year of overseas service, he returned safely to his wife and four children and resumed work with his “second family” at Applebee’s.
Victor met with Ed Doherty to personally thank him and dedicate the flag to his organization for all they have done for his family and for other active duty military and veterans.

HONORED TO BE OF SERVICE — A flag of The United States of America was flown on a CH-47D Chinook Tail #8900168 on Veterans Day 11/11/2012 during a combat operation from Kandahar Airfield in Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. It was presented to Ed Doherty (on the right) and Marc Prince (left) by SPC Victor Adu-Amanfoh in recognition of Doherty Enterprises support and dedication to the men and women of the NY Army National Guard.
