(Long Island, NY) Third Squad detectives are investigating a residential burglary that occurred on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 4:52 pm in East Hills.
According to detectives, two Third Precinct officers received a call for a residential alarm at a Wildwood Lane home. Upon arrival it was observed that a rear door to the home was open and a search of the residence was initiated. During the search a male black subject was located hiding on the floor in one of the homes bedrooms.

An attempt was made to place the subject into custody, who resisted arrest and attempted to take one officer’s service weapon. After a continued struggle, the subject, who was further described as being 6’1” tall, 28-35 years old with a stocky build, curly hair, wearing a black jacket and black pants, was able to break free and flee the home.
During the clash both officers suffered non-life threatening injuries causing one officer to be transported to an area hospital for treatment.
