(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens man for Grand Larceny that occurred in East Garden City on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, a 34 year old female victim parked her 2015 Mercedes Benz at the Roosevelt Field Parking lot located at 630 Old Country Road and went shopping. When the victim returned to her car, it was noticed that her car was missing and reported it to the Nassau County Police. The victim further notified Mercedes Benz Tracking Service that her car was missing and requested that it be tracked.

Crimes Against Property detectives with the assistance of Mercedes Benz Tracking Service were able to locate the vehicle being driven by the Dioscoro Cervantes, 49, of Woodside driving on 40th Road in Flushing, N.Y. A car stop was made by CAP Squad detectives with the assistance of the New York City Police Auto Crime Unit and placed the defendant into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
Dioscoro Cervantes is charged with Grand Larceny, 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, and Petit Larceny (previous warrant). He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday, December 17, 2015.
Nassau County Police would like to remind motorists to lock their vehicles and secure valuables during this holiday season.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
