(Long Island, NY) The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of an arrest for Arson that occurred on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 10:35 PM in Westbury.
According to detectives, 911 received a call for a fire at a residence on Warren Street. The defendant, Daswell Anderson, 69, the homeowner, lives in the basement and rents the ground floor to a family who he is having a dispute with.

The defendant is heard banging on the pipes and tenants smell gas, exit the home and notify 911. The Uniondale Fire Department responds extinguishes a fire in the basement and shuts off the gas. The defendant is located in the basement, transported to a local hospital and after an investigation is placed into custody.
No injuries were reported.
Defendant Anderson is being charged with Arson 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, December 28, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
