Presented By Douglas Elliman Real Estate & Gold Coast Arts Center, Programs To Include Q&As With Major Directors and Filmmakers
(NEW YORK) Long Island will be home to a new film screening series featuring some of the finest examples of independent and studio films, with five monthly events from February through June. Presented by Douglas Elliman Real Estate and the Gold Coast Arts Center, the screenings, which will include Q&As with directors and other professional filmmakers, will be held on February 4, March 11, April 8, May 13 and June 5 at Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington, 7 Soundview Market Place (off of Shore Road), in Port Washington.
“On behalf of Douglas Elliman and as a lifelong fan of movies, I very excited to be involved in presenting these monthly screenings that will preview the very best, new independent films and studio releases,” commented Dottie Herman, President and CEO of Douglas Elliman, a recent appointee to the board of directors for the Gold Coast Arts Center. “We are proud to continue the great programming you have come to expect from other films events on Long Island such as the Furman Film Series and the Gold Coast International Film Festival.”
The first screening, on Tuesday February 4th at 7:30 pm, is Girl on a Bicycle – A delightful Italian romantic comedy from the screenwriter of The Notebook, the director of Don Juan DeMarco, and the producers of the Academy Award-winning The Lives of Others. Paolo, an Italian who drives a Paris tour bus, has just proposed to his true love, the German stewardess Greta, when a young French beauty, Cécile pulls up beside his bus on her bicycle and in short order turns his life upside-down.
On Tuesday March 11th at 7:30 pm, Fading Gigolo will unreel, starring John Turturro, Woody Allen, Sharon Stone, and Sofia Vergara. Fioravante (Turturro) decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend (Allen). With Murray acting as his “manager”, the duo quickly find themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money.

Admission to all five films costs $75/ $65 for seniors. Individual tickets cost $15 in advance ($10 students) / $20 at the door.
