(NEW YORK, NY) New York City based Bulldog Ball Club is pleased to announce the launch of the Bulldog Baseball League (BBL). The BBL is an exciting new competitive baseball program that provides quality instruction and high level competition without the expense or time commitment to travel baseball right here in Manhattan.
Steve DeBlasi, founder of the Bulldog Ball Club, explains the need for such a change.
“Each season that we run our travel baseball programs, our players’ families ask us why they need to travel outside of Manhattan to play competitive baseball. And they have a point! We’re lucky to have so many talented baseball players right here in New York City, and yet no organization has been created to harness that talent,” said DeBlasi. “After thinking about this feedback, we realized we could create a program that solved the travel commitment, lowered the cost to participate but still maintained the same level of coaching and competition as a travel program. The result is the Bulldog Baseball League”
So what are the advantages to joining the BBL? Participants in the new league can expect 2.5 hour weekend sessions compared to the six hours families currently commit to with a typical baseball travel program.
“The new Bulldog Baseball League will help make baseball in the city more convenient and accessible,” said Adam Virant, BBL League Director. “In today’s society, there’s a constant battle between balance, especially with family, work, and children with multiple hobbies. It’s nice for families to free-up time outside of baseball to spend leisure time together.”
Beginning in Spring 2014, the Bulldog Baseball League will be coached on Saturdays by the club’s current travel team coaches at Randall’s Island and other fields throughout Manhattan.
“Our goal with this new program, is to offer top-notch training and competition. We’ve just found a way to scale the hours, but still offer the same level of baseball instruction as regular travel teams,” continued DeBlasi. “We’ve been working on the league’s curriculum for months to ensure it’s at the same level as typical travel teams. We really think it’s going to help revolutionize the way Manhattan baseball has been executed and develop some amazing young talent.”
