(Long Island, NY) The First Squad reports the arrest of a North Massapequa woman on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 for Grand Larceny that occurred in Bellmore.
According to detectives, a female victim, 73 years of age, had asked her friend Maureen Adamo, 52, to assist her with making sure her bills were paid while she recovered from a medical procedure. Beginning in January of 2015 Adamo began to forge checks from the victim’s account and deposit them into her own account totaling a loss in excess of $50,000.00 dollars.

Detectives located Adamo on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in Bethpage and placed her under arrest.
Adamo is charged with Grand Larceny 2nd degree and (4) four counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
