(Long Island, NY) The Fair Media Council Board of Directors is happy to announce the election of North Shore-LIJ Vice President Terry Lynam as Chair of the Board for the 2013-2014 term. With an impressive thirty-plus year career in print media, state government and healthcare, Lynam’s diverse background compliments the board as a whole.
Some of the many highlights of Lynam’s distinguished career include serving as a press officer for New York State Gov. Mario Cuomo as well as a press secretary to New York State Lt. Gov. Stan Lundine. He has also served as a Director of Customer Relations at Lockheed Martin IMS, and is currently North Shore-LIJ’s Vice President of Public Relations. “Terry brings tremendous expertise and long term commitment,” says FMC Executive Director Jaci Clement, “which makes him the perfect chair at this time in our history.”
In order to become part of the FMC Board of Directors, a candidate must be an executive of a business or nonprofit organization in the New York and New Jersey metro area. Extra consideration is given to those who demonstrate a strong commitment to their community.
The Fair Media Council (FMC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that educates businesses, nonprofits and the public to become media savvy. FMC also advocates for quality local news coverage and has about 200 New York Metro area businesses and nonprofits as members.
