(Long Island, NY) An off-duty Suffolk County police officer, along with several Good Samaritans, rescued a man who was suffering from cardiac arrest on Monday, October 5.
Highway Patrol Safe-T Section officer Steven Turner was off-duty and playing hockey at the Sports Arena, located at 620 Middle Country Road, when a 49-year-old man who was also playing hockey collapsed from cardiac arrest.

Officer Turner, along with several Good Samaritans, started CPR and located the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) that was at the facility. After they administered two shocks, the victim began breathing on his own and regained a pulse.
The victim was transported by Nesconset Fire Department ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
