(Long Island, NY) The Homicide Squad reports the details of a serious auto accident that occurred on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 9:38 pm in Woodbury.
According to detectives Eugene Golden, 59 of Huntington was operating a Mercedes Benz SUV northbound on Woodbury road was in a collision with a Nissan which was travelling southbound. The accident occurred in front of 367 Woodbury Road.

The Nissan was driven by a female, 43 years of age, and occupied the driver’s 10 year old daughter. The operators of the vehicles were transported to area hospitals for treatment and are listed in stable condition. The 10 year old female suffered a head injury and is listed in critical condition at an area hospital.
The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Eugene Golden for Vehicular Assault and Driving While Intoxicated in connection with the above accident. Golden was admitted to an area hospital for treatment of injuries and will be arraigned when medically practical.
The investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
