(Long Island, NY) Fifth Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for a robbery that occurred in Valley Stream on Tuesday, 03/15/16 at 1:48 P.M.
According to detectives, Kevin DCosta, 19, of Valley Stream, acting in concert with another (not yet apprehended), approached a male victim, 17, on W. Merrick Rd., and took his backpack. The defendant is known to the victim.

Fifth Squad detectives arrested DCosta on Tuesday, 03/15/16 on Louise Pl. in Valley Stream. He is being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 03/16/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
