(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police arrested a woman after she was caught selling alcohol to a minor at a business in Mastic on Friday, December 11.
The Seventh Precinct Crime Section conducted an underage alcohol sting operation of ten businesses in Mastic, Shirley, Manorville, Moriches and East Moriches today. A volunteer younger than 21-years-old, acting as an agent with the Suffolk County Police Department entered ten businesses with the intent to purchase alcohol. Some of the stores chosen were in response to community concerns while others were randomly selected.

Tajinder Kubhar, 47, Selden, an employee of Mastic Liquors, at 1619 Montauk Highway, Mastic, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree for selling alcohol to a minor. She was given a Field Appearance Ticket and released. She is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on February 16, 2016.
The following nine establishments complied with New York State law and refused the sale of alcohol to a minor:
- Colin Deli, 132 Colin Drive, Shirley
- Royal Supermarket, 451 Glen Drive, Shirley
- Handy Pantry Food Store, 238 Moriches-Middle Island Road, Shirley
- M&S Wine and Spirits, 254 Moriches-Middle Island Road, Mastic
- Wave Gas Station and Grocery, 476 Montauk Hwy, East Moriches
- Valero Gas Station and Food Mart, 620 Montauk Hwy., East Moriches
- Blue Ribbon Beverages Inc., 162 Main Street, Center Moriches
- Spirit Giant Liquor Inc., 798 Main Street, Center Moriches
- Valero Gas Station and Food Mart, 1651 Montauk Hwy., Mastic
The operation is part of an ongoing effort by the Suffolk County Police Department to ensure compliance of laws pertaining to the sale of alcohol.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
