(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian in Bohemia on Friday, October 9.
A pedestrian was walking in the roadway on Orville Dr. when a 2002 Chevy Suburban traveling southbound, being driven by Stephen Santiago, struck a man at approximately 6:45 p.m. Santiago, 36, of Shirley, stayed at the scene and attempted to help the man. Santiago had two sons in the vehicle and all were uninjured.

The pedestrian was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, before being transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital. He’s in critical condition. The name is being withheld pending notification of family.
The investigation is continuing.
