(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Amityville on Tuesday, January 5.
Angela DeLeone was walking southbound on Route 110, south of West Smith Street, when she stepped into the roadway and was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Sonata at 6:55 a.m.

DeLeone, 52, of Massapequa, was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Hyundai, Dianne Hodnett, 68, of Amityville, was not injured.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-852-8152.
