(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Farmingdale on Thursday, September 17.
Albert Perrone, 45, was driving a 2003 Saturn westbound on Melville Road, west of Route 110, when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway at approximately 9:20 p.m.

The pedestrian, Eyyad Almargi, 24, of Yonkers, who was a current student at Farmingdale State College SUNY, was transported via Farmingdale Fire Department to St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Perrone, of Farmingdale, was not injured.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
