(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Lindenhurst on Friday, August 28.
George Banos, 53, was driving a 2000 Saturn eastbound on Sunrise Highway, between New Highway and Straight Path, when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The pedestrian, Choc Domingo, 40, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Medical Examiner. Banos, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
