(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Shirley on Friday, July 17.
Jessica Chaimowitz was walking on William Floyd Parkway attempting to cross at the intersection of Roberts Road when she crossed into the path of a northbound pickup truck at approximately 9:10 a.m. Chaimowitz, 30, of Corbin Avenue, Shirley, was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic from Mastic Beach Ambulance.

The driver of the pickup truck, Scott Ferrari, 41, of Shirley, was not injured.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
