(Long Island, NY) Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash in Brentwood that left a pedestrian in serious condition on Friday, November 27.
Paul Belanger stepped into traffic on Second Avenue at the intersection with Brentwood Road and was struck by a 2013 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound being driven by Pedro Ramirez-Medrano at approximately 9:50 p.m.

Belanger, 35, of Brentwood, was transported by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, in serious condition with a head injury. Ramirez-Medrano, 29, of Brentwood, was not injured and stayed at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing.
