(Long Island, NY) Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an auto accident, in which a pedestrian was struck, that occurred in Hicksville on Thursday, 11/12/15 at 7:55 P.M.
According to detectives, a 2008 Toyota Sienna, operated by a male driver, 58, was travelling northbound on Broadway (under the LIRR overpass), when he struck a female pedestrian, 52, who was attempting to cross from east to west.

Hicksville Fire Department Ambulance transported the pedestrian, Olga Aranova, of Flushing, who suffered head, neck and spine injuries, to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead a short time later by a staff physician. No other injuries were reported.
Detectives report no apparent criminality. Brake and safety tests were performed on the vehicle at the scene.
