(Long Island, NY) The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:33 p.m. in New Cassel.
According to detectives, a 33 year old male driver was operating a 2003 Ford Econonline van eastbound on Prospect Avenue when he made a left turn onto State Street to head northbound. Upon turning onto State Street the driver struck a pedestrian, Reynaldo Flores-Grande, 30 of New Cassel as he crossed westbound on State Street in the crosswalk.

The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 12:09 p.m. by hospital personnel. A brake tested was conducted on the vehicle at the scene and found to have adequate braking ability. There were no other injuries reported.
