(Long Island, NY) The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal auto accident which occurred on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 6:26 P.M. in North Massapequa.
According to detectives, Francis Ossandon, 77, of Bethpage struck a bicyclist while driving northbound on Hicksville Road. Ossandon left the scene and was located at his residence and placed under arrest. The victim, Francis Llanos, 59, of Seaford, was taken to Saint Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

Ossandon is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Fatality. He will be arraigned on Monday, February 08, 2016 at First District Court in Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
