(Long Island, NY) The Second Squad reports the details of an arrest for Burglary that occurred on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 pm in Hicksville.
According to detectives, 911 received a call for a burglary in progress at a West Avenue residence. Upon police arrival a 24 year old female victim stated that she heard glass breaking inside her bedroom. When she entered she heard a male say “I’m sorry” and exit through a broken window.

Officers from the Bureau of Operations observed blood on the broken window and followed a blood trail to a parking lot on Old Country Road. There the officers observed a male wearing all black and open bloody wounds to his head, arm and hands.
After an investigation Shane Lopez, 34, of Hicksville was placed under arrest. There were no proceeds.
Defendant Lopez is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. He was arraigned on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
