(Long Island, NY) The First Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Robbery that occurred on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 12:01 pm in Uniondale.
According to detectives, the defendant Deionte Reid, 18, who was riding his red BMX Bicycle approached a 17 year old male victim and grabbed his iPhone and the then fled on his bike north on Manor Street. First Precinct Police were called and responded.

An investigation led police to the defendant’s home where he was located and placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported. The cell phone was recovered.
Further investigation revealed the defendant Deionte Reid was also responsible for another previous Robbery that occurred in Uniondale on January 8, 2016 in which a 17 year old male victim states that Reid while on his red BMX bicycle grabbed his cell phone and fled.
The defendant Deionte Reid is charged with two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree. He also had an open warrant from a domestic incident and was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree and Aggravated Harassment. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday, January 22, 2016

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
