(Long Island, NY) The Major Case Bureau reports the details of four arrests for possession of forged instruments and grand larceny that occurred in Garden City on Thursday, 08/20/15 at 2:15 P.M.
According to detectives, Mackenley Dumervil, 23, of St. Albans, and Anthony Ballard, 23, of Jamaica, entered the Nike store located at 630 Old Country Rd., and used a re-encoded credit card to purchase five (5) $500.00 Nike gift cards. At 3:47 P.M., Justin Williams, 26, and Carry Faublas, 26, both of Rosedale, entered the Nike store and used a re-encoded credit card to purchase gift cards.

The defendants were found to be in possession of a total of eighteen fraudulent credit cards. Subsequent investigation revealed the defendants had made additional fraudulent purchases in the month of June causing the store to sustain a financial loss in excess of $25,000.
Crimes Against Property Squad detectives arrested all four defendants at the scene. Dumervil is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and four counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. Ballard is being charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and five counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. Williams is being charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and three counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. Faublas is being charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and six counts of Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree. The defendants will be arraigned on Friday, 08/21/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Defendants are entitled to a fair trial with the burden on the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
